Lichen Forest 11x14

Lichen Forest is my first ever mixed-media artwork where I ncorporated natural materials.

This painting captures a moment of forest tranquility, juxtaposing an abstract field of deep greens and autumnal browns with the stark, intricate beauty of real lichen and a central Douglas fir branch.

The contrasting textures—from the rough, organic feel of the dried lichen and pine needles to the bold, sweeping brushstrokes—create a dynamic visual experience.

It is a tactile piece that celebrates and invites the viewer to look closer at the subtle, persistent life found in the wilderness.
