A Spark in the Void 11x14

​A Spark in the Void is an exploration of the delicate balance between nothingness and existence. Created through a purely intuitive process, the piece captures a moment of sudden clarity or hope emerging from the vast, silent unknown.

​The composition is anchored by a deep, matte black—a representation of the "void"—which is disrupted by a sweeping, diagonal surge of Rhodamine red. This vibrant core is a raw, tactile texture that suggests movement and friction rather than calculated precision. The jagged edges where the red meets the black evoke a sense of energy fighting to break through.

​Scattered across the canvas are deliberate speckles of ice silver, acting as sparks. These metallic accents provide a sense of immense scale, transforming the abstract forms into a cosmic or internal landscape.

My intention for this artwork is for it to serve as a visual metaphor for the human experience: the act of finding meaning, light, and purpose even when surrounded by the overwhelming uncertainty of the darkness.
